Run #36-August 18, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched to a Pat bus incident on
Connie and Jacks Run Road. The bus was leaking a small amount of
diesel fuel that was cleaned up by the authority. Station 251 returned
into service within a half hour.
Run #35-August 16, 2008
Station 251 QRS responded to Connie Drive for a female
with abdominal pains and weakness. QRS remained on scene until the
patient was transported to Bellevue Suburban for treatment.
Run #34-August 10, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched to a possible transformer
fire on Jacks Run Road after an evening storm. After investigation in
the area nothing was found, no power outage observed and no hazards.
Station 251 returned to service.
Run #33-August 8, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for wires down at Brighton
and Jacks Run Road near Kelly Dry Ice Company. Upon arrival, a tractor
trailer had pulled down a cable wire from the pole. Comcast and
Duquense light were notified to assist with the incident. Units
returned after 45 minutes.
Run #32-August 6, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for kids illegally burning
near Balsam and Jacks Run Road. 250 Engine checked area and no fire
was found. Units returned back into service.
Run #31-August 3, 2008
Station 251 RIT was dispatched to 259 first due to
Evergreen Ave in the early morning hours of August 3rd. Flames
engulfed the residential structure and in conjunction with RIT 239
each side of the structure was manned to ensure the safety of
firefighters battling the intense flames.
Run #30-July 30, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched to Benton and Bascom for a
smoldering dumpster fire. It turned out to be a controlled burn in a
trash barrel and was quickly extinguished using a water can.

Station 251 was dispatched to Longmount Drive for a
smell of natural gas. Equitable Gas was contacted and station 251
remained on scene until released by the gas company.

Station 251 participated in a summer camp program
instructing students of fire prevention at Seville school.

Station251 participated in "Messy Days" at
Denny Park a summer camp program.
Run #26-July 1, 2008
Station 251RIT was dispatched for a 2 alarm commercial
structure fire at an automotive garage. Station 251 remained on the
scene for three hours and also assisted with checking for hot spots
and clean up.
Run #25-June 29, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for smoke investigation in
Station 250's area. Station 251 was called off and returned into
service before leaving the station.
Run #24-June 28, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a transformer sparking
after severe weather hit the area. Duquesne Light was notified and
Station 251 was returned into service.
Run #23-June 16, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a natural gas leak at
Giant Eagle on Brighton Road. Columbia gas was dispatched and surveyed
the area for leaks with nothing found. Drilling was evident at the far
end of the grocery store parking lot for a new sewer line and the team
called 911. After investigation, Columbia gas released stations 251.
Run #22-June 9, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched to Seville school for a
smoke detector activation. Station 251 C-2 was on the scene to find a
malfunction with the detector possibly caused by the extreme heat or
dirt in the detector.
Run #21-June 6, 2008
Station 251 RIT was dispatched into 103 area for a
kitchen fire. Upon arrival to the scene RIT teams from 239 and 251
were returned into service.
Run #20-May 29, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a car fire in the
Brighton Road Giant Eagle parking lot. Station 251 C-2 arrived to find
a Ford Taurus with an engine compartment fire. City 35 Engine arrived
prior to 251 Engine and extinguished the fire. A van next to the
vehicle fire sustained minor heat damage to it's passenger side.
Run #19-May 23, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a stove fire inside a
residence. The fire was extinguished by the home owner prior to our
arrival. There was no extension the fire was contained in the
oven.
Run #18-April 24, 2008
Station 251 RIT was dispatched for a natural gas leak
inside a structure in 103 district. 251 units remained on the scene
until released by 103 command.
Run #17- April 11, 2007
Late in the evening on Friday, Station 251 and Station
250 were dispatched for a commercial fire alarm at Briar Cliff
apartments on Bascom Avenue. After investigation for over an hour, it
appeared water lines were replaced in the complex and had interfered
with one of the lower level smoke detectors. The Fire Marshal was
called into to investigate further.
Run #16-April 7, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a CO alarm with no ill
effects. The residence was metered with no CO levels found. Station
251 returned to service.
Run #15-March 21, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched along with Station 250 for
smoke investigation on Eileen Drive. After extensive investigation,
nothing was found and Station 251 Chief returned all units.
Run #14-March 18, 2008
Shortly after 1400 hours, Station 251 RIT was called
to a working structure fire in Shaler Township on Anderson Road. No incidents
were reported and RIT crews stayed on the scene over two hours before returning
to the station.
Run #13-March 6, 2008
Station 251 responded on 2nd alarm to Station 108's
district for a residential structure fire. Station 251 remained on the
scene for several hours assisting with fire suppression and overhaul.
Station 251 engine was utilized with a 3" supply line to 297
Truck three.

Run #12-March 4, 2008
Station 251 RIT was dispatched to Thompson Run Road in
Station 246 district for a kitchen fire. 239 Chief arrived and
reported a water condition in the basement and a minor smoke
condition. Station 251 RIT was returned to service shortly after
arrival at the scene.
Run #11-February 27, 2008
Station 251 RIT was dispatched for a residential
structure assignment in Station 246 district. The fire was
extinguished prior to Station 251 RIT's arrival and was returned into
back service.
Run #10-February 20, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a vehicle on it's roof
at Benton and Bascom Avenues. City fire, EMS and Police were on the
scene and assisted patient extrication. Station 251 remained on the
scene until it was cleared.
Run #9-February 17, 2008
Station 251 RIT was dispatched to 259's district for a
residential structure assignment and was returned into service before
leaving the station. Evidentially, a group of kids set fire to wood
inside a garage.
Run #8-February 14, 2008
Station 251 RIT was dispatched into 259's district for
a vehicle into a residence. The patients were quickly extricated and
Station 251 was returned into service while enroute.
Run #7-February 1, 2008
Station 251RIT was dispatched to In Town suites on
McKnight Road for possible electrical condition inside the structure.
After arriving on the scene Station 251 remained for about 15 minutes
until then released to return back into service.
Run #6-January 18, 2008
Around 4:30am early Friday morning, Station 251 RIT
was dispatched into Etna for a RIT assignment to assist Station 239
RIT. Upon arrival, heavy fire engulfed a warehouse near Route 28.
Station 251 stayed on the scene for around five hours. RIT teams were
formulated including operations and accountability for nearly 200
firefighters. Two roofs collapsed on top of each other causing a
challenge to completely extinguish the fire. Foam was utilized to
assist in tight areas of the fire. All companies responding worked diligently
to control the flames. No injuries occurred. (Photo above)
Run #5-January 17, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a fire alarm at Station
250. The alarm was caused by cooking and units were returned into
service.
Run #4-January 14, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a containment detail at
Mazur Avenue. The fluid was found to be water and units were placed
back into service.
Run #3-January 12, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched for a smell of natural gas
in the area of Forest and Tinley Avenues in Bellevue. Chief 251
arrived on the scene and found no odor of natural gas and held all
units at their stations.
Run #2-January 9, 2008
Station 251 was dispatched to a possible transformer
fire at Zug and Bascom Avenues. 251 Squad and Ross Township PD checked
the area thoroughly and found nothing. 251 Lieutenant requested
dispatch to contact the caller but a call back could not be made. 251
units returned back into service.
Run #1-January 4, 2008
Station251 was dispatched for a CO alarm on York
Drive. No ill affects or levels of CO found. Station251 returned to
service.
