#34 Brush Fire

Station 251 along with station 250 were alerted for a possible brush fire on Bascom Ave, passerby reporting the bushes were on fire. 251 engine arrived on scene with nothing showing. Bascom Ave command slowed all 250 units down while crews investigated. The area was thoroughly checked and nothing was found. All units returned back into service.


 
#33 Smoke in Apartment

251 Engine was dispatched into Avalon (103) for the fifth floor of an apartment building filling with smoke. 103 Chief arrived on scene and investigated to find the cause to be burnt food. Crews from 103, and 108 vented the structure and 251 was returned while en route.


 
#32 Possible Structure Fire

Engine 251 was dispatched into 249 (Quail) first due along with 252 for reports of smoke coming from a residential structure. 252L arrived on scene with heavy smoke in the area but determined the cause to be from the resident burning brush in the front yard. The fire marshal was requested to the scene and the home owner was told to put the fire out. All fire apparatus was returned into service.


 
#31 Commercial Structure Fire RIT

251 was dispatched to a commercial structure fire at Fisher Landscaping in Perrysville (248) first due for RIT. Multiple calls for the building on fire, 248 Chief arrived on scene with smoke showing. 248 Chief investigated and found a light ballast from an aquarium smoking. First arriving units took the light ballast outside. the assignment was held to 253 and 248 while the building was vented. 251 was returned prior to arrival.


 
#30 Poss Structure Fire

Station 251 was dispatched along with station 252 for a Possible Residential Structure Fire, caller stating that there was smoke coming from the roof of the house across the street. 250 Engine was in there area and headed over to investigate. Upon 250's arrival it was found to be steam coming off of the roof from the cold weather and rain, no problem found all units were replaced back in service.

Just over an hour after returning from the previous call 251 was dispatched for their 3rd call of the evening this time for an MVA in the parking lot of Giant Eagle. 251 Chief arrived on scene and found one vehicle up on the guide rail and into a cart return station. 251 Chief advised that Rescue 40 could return but to continue the medics for a patient complaining of head pain, and continue fire for cleanup. The vehicle was stabilized and crews from 251 cleaned up the area then went back in service.


 
#28 Commercial Fire Alarm

Less then an hour after returning from the previous alarm 251 was dispatched to the same location for a different zone fire alarm. The source was found to be a low battery and the alarm was taken out of service until the following morning. All units went back in service.


 
#27 Commercial Fire Alarm

The night started off with a Commercial Fire Alarm on Jacks Run Rd. 251 Engine was dispatched along with 250 and 252 for an automatic alarm. Units ad nothing showing upon arrival and requested a key holder. A walk through was done and nothing was found, all units were placed back in service.


 
#26 Mulch Fire

Station 251 was dispatched for a patch of mulch on fire endangering an apartment complex in Perrysville (248) first due. 248 Chief arrived on scene moments after dispatch and reported a very small mulch fire and held the assignment to one engine from 248 non-emergency all other units were placed back in service.


 
#25 Natural Gas

Engine 251 was dispatched for a smell of natural gas inside the residence in Avalon (103) Borough. 103 Chief arrived on scene with a slight smell and requested the gas company. Gas company got on scene prior to 251's arrival and 251 Engine was put back in service.
